Autumn Color Palette is published under the guidance of Helen Alex. She runs a team of people having vast researches inspired from sci/Art color analysis system and established color theories . She creates scenarios where a virtual draping session is performed from which anyone interested in color analysis can benefit from as a free resource .

What this site is

This site explains seasonal color analysis — specifically the Autumn family and its subtypes (Soft, True/Warm, Deep/Dark) — along with the color theory behind it and practical guidance on wardrobe, makeup, and design use. It’s an educational and editorial resource, not a diagnostic service. Seasonal color analysis is a styling framework built on real color relationships, not a medical, dermatological, or psychological assessment, and nothing here should be read as one.

Our methodology

Where the Sci/ART 16-season framework appears on this site, it’s used the way any of the field’s several 16-season systems are used: as one documented, named framework among a handful — Sci/ART, 4×4, Tonal, House of Color, and others — that all extend the same 12-season foundation. We’re specific about which system a given page is using, because the field itself hasn’t standardised on one; see Why Are There Different Autumn Color Palettes? on the homepage for the longer explanation.
Colour on this site is described using hue, value, and chroma — the three-part model Albert Munsell published in 1905, still the working reference for textile, paint, and design colour-matching today. A hex code is a digital colour instruction: it tells a screen exactly what to render. It is not a laboratory measurement of a person’s “correct colour,” and it can’t fully predict how that colour behaves in physical fabric under daylight — screens compress chroma in ways real draping doesn’t. We say this plainly because precision should build trust, not manufacture false certainty.

How we develop colour information

Content generally moves through: research into the colour-analysis system or design question at hand → palette construction, checked against the Munsell hue/value/chroma model → drafting → editorial review → publication, with updates when something needs correcting.
AI tools may assist with research organisation, drafting, and formatting. They don’t perform draping, hold credentials, or generate first-hand client experience. We don’t claim laboratory colour testing, spectrophotometer measurement, or physical fabric testing unless a specific page says otherwise.

Evidence boundaries

Worth separating a few kinds of claim you’ll find across this site: established colour science (how hue, value, and chroma work — resting on over a century of documented colour-order systems); recognised colour-order systems (Munsell, and others we name directly, all independently verifiable); seasonal colour-analysis methodology (the 4/12/16-season frameworks — a professional styling methodology with real documented history, not a scientific consensus); and practitioner interpretation or styling guidance — informed judgment applied to an individual case, where two capable analysts can reasonably disagree. We try never to present the last two with the same certainty as the first two.
